ENGLISH CEMETERY IN MALAGA
The English Cemetery in Malaga, or Anglican Cemetery, or Cemetery
of St George, is the oldest non-Roman catholic Chirstian cemetery
established on mainland Spain.
This cemetery was bulit because the people who weren't catholic,
couldn't be burried in a normal, then they were burried at the edge
of the sea. But it was unhealthiest and troublesome because a long
time later the sea expulsed the dead bodies. And for these reasons
the cemetery was built. It is located at ''La Cañada de los Ingleses''
AVDA/ de Príes.
In the cemetery are burried more than 1000 people including more
than 30 babies. The mayority of the population burried here is
Anglican. The cemetery is maintained with donation. The churcch
at the cemetery has a neoclassical style.
Ther firs person who was burried here was a sailor, who dead
suffocated and the second was Robert Boyd, an engilsh liberal who
dead executed by firearm together with General Torrijos and another
group of liberal people who stared an uprising moverent against
ahsolutidt king Ferdinand VII.
